Description
There is a trend in many industries right now where organizations are starting to realize the value of data and how leveraging it can help make better business decisions. This trend is driven by the increasing availability of internal and external data. There are problems that come with this new data; data lakes that are really data swamps, bad data quality, lack of clear ownership, increasing regulatory pressures, and selling untrustworthy data.
The Data Quality Analyst role will dive deeper into data quality, data governance, data science and proactively learn new tools and methods for driving business value to help understand the quality and problem areas of data. You will learn and become certified in the latest Data Governance, Data Quality, and Privacy tools and help organizations evolve their data strategies. You will interact with global Opplane and client teams to accomplish success. Client facing, this role will focus on helping our customers and partners achieve digital transformation strategy success and help them expose and implement data quality, and data management strategies. Delivering results at the client level is the key to our reputation and success of both parties.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Participating in agile delivery methods, utilizing tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps Server to track progression
- Work directly with customers to understand pain points, processes improvement areas, and overall perception of the requirement and goal
- Performing statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity
- Evaluating system performance and design, as well as its effect on data quality
- Collaborating with database developers to improve data collection and storage processes
- Running data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions, as well as cleaning data
- Understand and build Data Quality Rules based on data quality dimensions (Completeness, Accuracy, Uniqueness, Validity, Integrity, and more)
- Gathering data from primary or secondary data sources to identify and interpret trends
- Reporting data analysis findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs
- Document Data Quality processes and procedures
- Help organizations understand the value of good Data Strategy best practices
- Drive user adoption through business facing solutions and processes
- Adhere to best practices in data analysis and collection along with understanding the impacts of bad data
- Data entry into the various data tools based on the operating models of the customer
- Provide thought leadership and guidance on the foundations of data strategy
- Participate in tool training courses to prepare for certification exams
- Build Data Glossaries and Data Catalogs and understand Data Lineage in leading tools
- Learn and build processes workflows that help reduce manual efforts
- Keeping abreast of developments and trends in data quality analysis
- Full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities
- Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvementsInterpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems in Data Catalogs
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Drive customer-facing demos of the products you learn
Job Qualifications
- A total 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or Data Quality Analyst
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Willing to travel to customers for face to face interactions (pending Covid protocols)
- Willing to work odd hours on occasion depending on client time zones and meeting schedules
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Strong knowledge of Python or another statistical analysis language
- Strong knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Suite such as (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Etc…)
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
- Master degree preferred
